Lines: Shown as points, think of a line intersecting a bowl
Great Cirle: North South Lines
Small Cirle: East West Lines
Primitive Circle: Outside circle

Pole of a Plane
1. Draw the plane
2. Rotate the net so the plane is striking north-south
3. Along the east-west line count over 90 degrees and mark this point, this is the pole
4. Rotate the plane back to its original position
Intersection of two planes
1. Draw both planes, the crossing of the lines represents the intersection of the planes
2. Rotate the intersetion point to the east west line
3. Measure the angle from the primitive circle to the intersection, this is the plunge
4. Mark the primitive circle on the side closest to the intersection
5. Rotate the intersection point back to the original position
6. The mark on the primitive circle is the trend of the intersection
True Dip from strike and a apparent dip
1. Draw a line along the strike with a dip of 90 degrees
2. Mark the primitive circle at the trend of the apparent dip
3. Rotate the apparent dip trend to the east-west line
4. Measure from the primitive circle inwards and mark the apparent dip
5. Rotate the strike line so it is oriented north south
6. Measure the dip of the great cirle that the apparent dip mark lies on, this is the true dip
Strike and Dip from two apparent dips
1. Mark both apparent dip
2. Rotate the dips until both fall on the same great circle, draw this great circle
3. Measure the true dip from the center to the great circle
4. Mark the north point
5. Rotate the plane and dips back to the original position
6. The previously marked north point is the strike of the plane
Two - tilt probelm
1. Plot the poles of both formations
2. Rotate the younger of the poles to the east-west line
3. Rotate the pole along the east west line to the center of the net, measure this angle
4. Rotate the other pole along a small circle by the same amount as the first pole
5. Rotate all the net back to its original position
